White water rafting in done in river Beas at Manali , Beas river is good for rafting, kayaking, canoeing etc. Rafting is done in Beas river from Manali to Bhuntar section in Kullu district , Rafting has become quite popular among the water sports lovers, tourists and corporate groups. Rafting trip starts from Mohal and covers 10 Kms distance.
Kullu Manali region has normal rafting grades and only two routes for rafting at Manali usually happen. One is 7 Kms route and another one is 14 Kms. Usually it depends on how much time you can spare for these routes. If you have ample free time, you can go for 14 Kms or usually 7 Kms rafting in Manali is normally liked by guests. Rafting season starts from mid April to mid-June and rest depends on the arrival of monsoon. Various tour operators provide the basic equipment required for the water sports with rafting guides & instructors. An extra pair of clothes is required for your help as water splashes may wet your outfit.
There are Two of white Water Rafting done in:
1. Short Rafting covers 7 kms
2. Long Rafting covers 14 kms
Season
End of April to June and mid-September to mid-October. Depending on the water situation there may be a break during the monsoon in summer.
Safety: Minimum age is usually 14; good physical fitness is required; Life jackets and helmets are provided by the tour operator.
